Introduction

KP in KPValuePlatform stands for Klaver Partners BV, a fund representation company I founded in 2005.  I started my career at Merrill Lynch in New York in 1989 and worked subsequently in the firm’s London and Zurich equity departments.  In 2001 I became a Managing Director at Petercam Bank in Amsterdam, responsible for their equity brokerage activities in the Netherlands.

Choosing an investment manager is not an easy task.

I feel most comfortable investing my own savings in a value strategy executed by business-oriented individuals, focussing on their area of expertise.  All the partners of the funds I work with have their liquid net worth, for a considerable part, invested in the fund they founded and which they manage on a day-to-day basis.  That alignment ensures hyper-focus on the margin of safety & preservation of capital.   And this, in the long run, is creating outstanding value for themselves and their co-investors.

The founders of the funds I work with are long standing relationships.

All founders/partners s of the funds on the KP Value Platform are bottom-up value-oriented investors, most are adepts of Benjamin Graham who influenced investors like Warren Buffett, William J. Ruane, Walter J. Schloss, Irving Kahn, Jean-Marie Eveillard, and many others.
